Lessons from a CFY Week 17 and 18

lessons from a CFY

This edition of Lessons from a CFY focuses on organization. With the new year comes a desire to get organized. Additionally, the midway point of my CFY also makes for a good time to place that emphasis.

Lessons from a CFY Week 17.1: Organizing Data

In graduate school, I had very established organizational tools. As a CF, that has really gone out the window. For my one job, I had different google docs for each of my sessions for five different clients. At the end of the semester, it was extremely difficult to work on my progress reports. However, this did help guide me with what tools will get me organized, and those will be for sale in Feburary on my TpT store.

I plan to use an ongoing document that will have data charts for each session under each goal. Every setting will have different information that is important and a different way of organizing it. It’s also important to keep track of qualitative information you observe throughout the semester. It can be so informative for you, the client and other healthcare professionals. Find a method that works for, and stick with it!

Lessons from a CFY 18.1: Organizing Time

What’s even harder than organizing data is organizing time. It can be so easy to let gaps of time go by at work without taking advantage of that time. One of my new work goals is to set my intention for open time at work so I can dedicate time to new learning and ways to help my existing clients.
