Ms. Tatyana Elleseff chose to focus her clinical career on working with children with a variety of developmental and neurogenic disorders in the following settings: schools, hospital/rehabilitation centers, early intervention, and private care. She interned at the prestigious Children’s Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center (CERC) at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and RUSK Rehabilitation Institute (affiliated with the New York University Langone Medical Center) in New York working with children 0-21 years of age with a vast variety of communication disorders, developmental speech/language delays and language-based learning disabilities.
She completed her clinical fellowship working with medically fragile pediatric and young adult population 0-22 years of age with severe multiple disabilities: mental retardation, cerebral palsy, autistic spectrum disorders, emotional disturbances, rare genetic syndromes, severe visual/hearing impairments as well as feeding and swallowing difficulties. During that time she became a member of a multi-disciplinary team specializing in augmentative assistive technology (AAC), picture exchange communication (PECS) and adaptive technology, and spent extensive periods of time educating teachers, parents and support staff on how to reinforce speech, language & feeding/swallowing skills in severely compromised pediatric populations.
Ms. Elleseff provided per diem speech and language therapy services at the Children’s Specialized Hospital of New Brunswick to children 0-21 years of age with a variety of neurogenic, developmental, and acquired disorders including traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, as well as feeding and swallowing deficits.
Ms. Elleseff also conducted 0-3 early intervention assessments for the Arc of Somerset, an organization dedicated to providing services to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities including genetic syndromes, mental retardation, cerebral palsy, and autism spectrum disorders.
In addition to her private practice, Ms. Elleseff maintains a hospital-based affiliation which enables her to keep abreast of the latest techniques and methodologies in the discipline of speech-language pathology.
Presently, she provides comprehensive speech & language evaluations and treatment including group & individual therapy services to children and young adults ages 3-18 diagnosed with a constellation of speech/language deficits secondary to psychiatric and emotional disturbances at the Rutgers University Behavioral Center – Rutgers Day School. There she is a member of a multidisciplinary unit team focused on delivery of psychosocial and behavioral services as well as a graduate speech-language pathology student supervisor.
Ms. Elleseff is also a member of New York and Central New Jersey Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder (FASD) multidisciplinary teams, the aim of which is to provide a variety of services including assessment and intervention of children identified or presenting with features of FASD.
